I agree about not enjoying the games. Guess the older I get I just want to have punch watch the gifts being open and then visit a little then go home!

I always like to see all the cute little clothes that come to a baby shower. I hang a clothesline and use clothespins to hang each cute little outfit for display for all to enjoy. The line can usually go near a wall or can be attached to the front of a table.

Go to www.lilluna.com at the top of the page click on Freebies and go to page 9. The Candy Bar Game is fun. We played it at my DIL's shower.

We Also asked in the invitation to bring a children's book or baby book instead of a card and to sign the inside of the book. Everyone did it and my daughter has quite a collection of books to read to the baby!
The last shower I went to we did the books as well. No games were played but when we put our address on the thank you envelopes, 3 names were drawn and a live plant was the gift. It was kinda nice not to play silly games.

I haven't gotten that far in the thinking process yet!

I agree about the games. I think the onesie decorating and headband construction activities are something that can be done - if anyone feels like it. The girls coming and co-hosting are all at least 30 years my junior, so they may have something else in mind.

You are not alone. What is it about showers that makes grown people want to play games? Any other adult gathering, no one brings up games. I like to just visit with people.

I don't know how the tradition of game playing started at showers...might be fun to investigate the origin of this insanity!! Maybe someone thought that a bunch of women wouldn't have anything to talk about???? Huh?? and needed something to pass the time.
