Thanks for posting, Ditter! That was so interesting (and educational for me!).

Loved watching them at work. A few years ago Washington D C had a problem with some beavers cutting down the Cherry Blossom trees around the Tidle Basin. I think they got about a dozen before all the beavers were captured and returned to the country.

this footage brings back lots of memories for me. When I lived in centeral NY I lived at Beaversprite Santuary. There was a small cottage and the owner had the Little Sprite river diverted to run through the cottage and she kept beaver there to study.

Every year there would be a new brood of kits, as the babies are called. they are very shy but when living around people they become quite acceptable to have people around them. They are gentle and seemingly happy animals.

The kits would sit on our laps and we fed them apples, carrots and alder branches for treats.

You can lay on a beaver lodge in the winter and hear the family talking and moving about.

Waiting to hear the first sound of newborns in the spring was always exciting. Knowing they are right beneath you warm and snug with mom and pop gave me a peaceful feeling.

Oh, I miss them. They are gone from where I live now.

Thank you Ditter43 for the show and memories.
