I am glad you posted this. I work at a school and don't read much during the school year. I have a problem with starting a book and not being able to put it down. I am sometimes still reading at 3:00 AM when I have to work in the morning. I am about to have a knee replacement and was looking for some good books. I will order some of these from the library. Thanks.

I'm an Audible book listener. I can do things and read at the same time. I have a long commute, plus I listen at lunchtime (my *downtime* away from my desk!), and at home while cleaning and sewing. I can read a LOT of books this way!!

I just finished "The Patron Saint of Ugly" by Marie Manilla which was a very interesting story, at times very funny, at other times very sad. The Italian immigrant family reminded me of my own. It's about a woman who is believed to be a miracle healer. An Arch Bishop of the catholic church comes to interview her and get her life story to investigate the miracles. That's the first chapter, the remainder of the book is the woman recording tapes to the Arch Bishop telling him the story of her life.

i am in the process of reading all of Charles Martin's books. He is from Florida and a Christian although he doesn't really stress that in his books. Just good stories and great characters. Writes about places I know from South Carolina and Florida. Good reads! The first one is The Dead Don't Dance. Then the sequel Maggie.

The Harbinger was a really interesting theory, wasn't it? I think I agree with his premise. Although I wish it had been written as a documentary/theory book, not a novel. What do others of you think of it?

I am currently reading book 4 of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. My sister in law got me started with the first book and now I can't stop. I don't have Starz so I haven't seen the tv series yet but I'm really enjoying the books so far. I find it easier to read them on my Kindle since each book has very small print. I'm trying to read the latest Debbie Macomber book at the same time to give myself a break but find I keep going back to my Kindle. My husband's grandmother was from Scotland and my son is engaged to a sweet girl from Duine Ardfern Argyll (hope I got that right) and will moving to Scotland for three years. So I'm finding reading about Highlanders fascinating and, I must admit, this series has a bit of spicy romance to it as well.

Best novel ever was Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear. All others in the series are just as good but read them in order esp the first one. Right now I'm reading Unbroken about Louie Zamperini. I have been been profoundly impacted by it. I have not seen the movie yet, but have often been so disappointed in movies made from books.

Finished reading the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child about a month ago; now a new book in the series is out. Will be reading that too. I loved All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.
