Right off the top of my head, I would have to say a deep heavy chocolate cake with light airy peanut butter icing.. But then I love the white coconut cake I make as well..

I rarely make a cake since there are just 2 of us and DH is NOT a chocoholic.

Pear cake with candied ginger snipped thru it. Oh My Gosh, it's Pear time in Ohio and I will gain 10 pounds from now till it's over!!

Oh for the regional differences ... traditional wedding cake to me, means fruit cake with the white decorators icing! :)
