Surprises are always nice. We pulled one over on my father in law. We bought a house about 15 miles from him after living two hours away for several years. We kept it a secret and got my brother in law to take him for a drive and stop at this house 'cause he thought he knew someone who lived here. My FIL was so surprised and pleased to have us closer - he is 86 years old.

Wow, your faces say it all! I am so happy for you. I managed to get all 5 of our kids home to surprise my late husband on his 50th, and I remember how great it was to see his face. Good move, Mom!
