Anyone know a safe anti inflammatory for dog about 60 pounds. I can't afford x-rays to show she has some lower spine inflamation. My fur baby has some liver problems so no NSAIDs.

So glad you know to stay away from NSAIDS like Rimadyl which has been a death sentence for WAY too many dogs.

Perhaps you could use a very low dose of baby aspirin??

Call a vet. Most vet offices will answer that question over the phone. If they don't, call your local pet shelter, the people there should know and give you a straight answer.

I know that many drugs that humans take, like Tylenol and other anti-inflammatorys, are very poisonous to dogs and cats.

We gave baby aspirin to our old dog as per vet's orders.
1 tablet / 20lb dog.

Only aspirin in safe for doctors. And the coated aspirins are the best. Call and ask. They should let you know without a problem.

I was told that the coated asprin was NOT to be used with dogs because it doesn't get disolved until it reaches the small intestine which isn't good for dogs. Plain baby asprin is the best.

Tylenol and Alieve can kill cats & dogs.

Your vet can also give you steriods which will help.
