Good idea cause I know of some fruits, etc. that you shouldn't feed them.

We've got one that used to like tomatoes when she was younger. She'll also steal any bread off the table if we leave it there, even in a bag.

Funny what pets will eat/drink. My greyhound will try to get your black coffee. We can't leave it unattended on the coffee table. The last thing I need is greyhound jazzed up on caffeine!

Tink waits till I share my coffee with her in the morning...she will even woof me if she thinks I forgot to give her some...
The other day she started to stand up against my leg waiting for her coffee...I told her it was too hot, and she sat down to wait...crazy dog. All she gets is my finger dipped into my black coffee a couple of times and she licks it off.

We had a cat years ago who loved vegetables. She would eat peas, green beans, corn, carrots, just about any vegetable. And her favorite of all was iceberg lettuce! She loved it. We even tested her once.....held out a piece of meat and a piece of lettuce. Yep, she took the lettuce! Weirdest cat I ever had.

I also had a dog who liked raw carrots and dewberries.

When I was a child, we had a toy poodle who would ignore the apples that had fallen off the tree, instead he'd stand on his hind legs and walk under the tree, inspecting every hanging apple until he found one suitable. Then he'd pick it and eat it.

I would check with the vet about the fruit, just to be safe. I know dogs can't have grapes, and I'm wondering if grapes are related to prunes - they're both pitted fruit, sort of. Lol.

We had a cat that would roll around on the floor if there was a green olive on it. Then she would chew on the celery leaves when I'd bring in the groceries. I thought maybe catnip and celery were similar? Another cat would eat mushrooms from casseroles. My DDhated mushrooms so she would feed them to him. He once knocked a Cheezit out of my hand so it would fall on the floor so he could have it. He also would eat animal crackers, but only the cat shaped ones! Too funny!

Cute stories. One of our cats loved the "innards" from cantaloupe. She just couldn't wait for us to put it down for her. It never seemed to have any adverse effects. She didn't like cantaloupe pieces, just the part with the seeds. Go figure.

I would check with the vet too, I know with dogs some things that can be extremely harmful to them is if they eat grapes or anything with garlic on it.
My grandmother God rest her soul used to feed her cat a can of crab meat everyday and then was shocked to find out the cat had diabetes, needless to say the Vet was every alarmed to find out what she was feeding the cat, lol We lived in a fishing community and a friend of the family had brought over a big garbage bag full of crab legs, she boiled them and fed them to the cat he was mortified.
