Celebrating 25 years at the same job.
Today is my 25th anniversary with the law firm. I'm a legal assistant. I started in the Real Estate section doing closings and moved to the Utility section when that work dried up 8 months later. I started working for a consultant as his personal secretary, then the firm cut back on staff and each staff person had to support two or more attorneys. I now work for two partners, one has his name on the letterhead, he has been here longer than me and we have worked together for about 22 of the last 25 years. I have worked with the other partner ever since he came to the firm 15 years ago.
I made oatmeal raisin cookies for everyone to enjoy today and the firm will be taking me to lunch today to thank me. I selected Ted's Montanta Grill for my party. Love the bison burgers at Ted's. BTW, I don't mind the small party today, we had abig cocktail party for my 20th anniversary complete with diamond earrings as my gift.
Hope everyone has a fun Friday.

I was downsized from by banking job at just short of 25 years. Took the summer off and started a new job in the computer industry and worked that for 8 years. Decided I needed a less stressful job so I took the church secretary job at our church (20 hours per week) and have been here for 7 1/2 years. Just turned 68 and can't think of retiring yet as I love the job and the hours are great. Our last church secretary retired at 80 and that was because she was in the early stages of dementia. Not there yet, hours are good, Pastor is wonderful to work with and my 150 proofreaders haven't worn me down yet. Hubby has been retired for 15 years and does more than his share of the housework so why would I want to retire?

Congrats! I worked at my last job for 21 years and retired from it when my husband retired a year and 1/2 ago. I was bored being retired, so I went back to work at a pedi clinic a couple of months ago and love it.

As a middle school teacher, you have my absolute respect and admiration!!!!!! I try to not turn my back on certain classes but you not only have to turn your back on them, you have to drive safely and discipline them at the same time!!!! Bus drivers are the unsung heroes of school systems.
