Default Chicken rescue

To say it has poured rain today is a gross understatement. We are already saturated and it just hasn't stopped. I looked out and the chicken pen was a small pond and the chickens were wearing little yellow rubber boots I knew I had to go out and let them out into the yard and I really didn't want to get wet. I was very glad the neighbors weren't home cause this old woman put on her flip flops and bathing suit, dashed through the backyard, let the ladies out, grabbed a very wet and upset cat and ran back in the house. Thinking I may have to lay down the quilt I'm working on and start plans for a building a boat.
Come on sunshine!!!!

NOT raining in Southern California. BOY is it cold. 28 degrees this morning. Should be at least in the high 70s.

no rain here today, but the other night a lot and sleet too. I had a good laugh at the picture of you in flip flops in the dead of winter. Glad everyone is drying out now.

LOL'D so long the dog came to see what was up. Qualifies for the funniest thing I came across this month.

I would have loved to have seen that!! Although I would have done the same thing, haha! My girls' coop gets muddy too, when it rains a lot around here. Thankfully they have other shelter.

Glad hubby wasn't home to get pictures. We're supposed to get even more rain tomorrow but hopefully the end is in sight. The cat sits in one of the nesting boxes and communes with the chickens. She was glad to be let into the garage. The ladies and Oliver the rooster have been standing on the front porch all afternoon. The kids at the daycare across the street are loving it! They came out in raincoats to play and the lady that keeps them brought them across the street to feed the chickens a loaf of ZUCCHINI BREAD!
