Congrats! same thing happened to my daughter! Everything said GIRL right up until out came a 9 lb 3 oz BOY ! The Dr. said she guessed he was shy..... I had a log cabin in pastels, of course with a hand embroidered label that started' to my beautiful grand daughter Lilly Anne'...
How a bout a signature block? Or, Fons & Porter had a pattern back on 1997 maybe 98' a Graduation quilt, a veriation of a signature block , another one I like is a baby bowtie, with the bowties connected in a circle... it makes this great chain effect, with a (peiced) center.

do you have a picture of the baby bowtie??? I like that idea. I want it to be similar to his older brothers, but not the same. My older son's was a rail fence in NY Giants red/white/blue. I did 4 cross stitch squares (12 in) with name, date, etc. life verse, poem and Giants emblem. I'm thinking the same with the cross stitch, but differ baby #2's quilt by using a different pattern.

Lol, well, the tech at my ultrasound said he was 100% sure that it was a boy, and we all saw him being NOT shy, lol, but we're having the 3D ultrasound done in a few weeks, and then we'll see for sure, instead of a blurry appendage.

Blue and white is always a great contrast. It looks terrific with a bear paw but I'm not that fond of the block for a baby.

Hi Rose, it seems I was paying attention last summer because I took pictures of all the quilts I finished, except this one; AND put them on a disk. Here's a photo of the baby bowtie with the chain configuration.
I did this block for the first time when I first started quilting, and felll in love with it.I never did manage to get a photo with the Mommy at the shower, oh well, you'll get idea from the photo.

Cosmina's baby bowtie,

Aren't you glad you found out BEFORE the walls were pink and lavender? Congrats.

I think Hugs and Kisses works well in 2 colors.
