Christmas Eve is always a mad house for us. It is one big Party at our house starting about 1 all our friends and family are invited. I am truly thankfull I have such a large house. Every fall Pa Pa takes out the tractor and cleans up the 1/2 mile sled run with jumps ( every one under 18 is required to wear helmets) We do have another hill about the same length for the less adventuras. it's called Gramie's run. LOL Some one always brings snowmobiles to pack the runs and haul kids up to the top. No cooking for me everything is pot luck, We supply all non Alchol drinks from soda's to water, hot chocklet, coffee, tea, juice your name it. At about sundown the fire pit is started and we pass out marshmellows, chocolate and graham crackers. When it gets too cold or wet we move inside and set up the board games. This party runs untill everyone goes home. usually around 11 at night. All kids are ready for bed. We don't see anyone extra on Christmas Day, go to church, than I get to hide away for most of it and do what I want (quilting of course) My DH will be watching TV most of the day. LOL Anyone else spending tomarrow quietly doing what we all love? I plan on finishing the binding on one quilt then starting my first needle turn project. OOPs I hear a snowmobile! That means DSI has arrived and unloaded his machine to start grooming the trails. Better get the first pot of coffee started. Merry Christmas to all!

Your festivities sound wonderful. We will be walking our neighborhood after our feast and enjoying the luminaries and lights.

We only have a daughter here in Delaware, so our Christmas is tonight Christmas Eve (her x gets the boys tomorrow at noon). Pizza and lasagne, first, at 2 PM, then later appetizers and junk food. Christmas day, we are sitting for a neighbor's 2 dogs. We were going to the movies to see "Lincoln" but one of the dogs is a 5 month old standard poodle, and she needs activity, so we are staying home. I hope to finished all the squares for a UFO now that we are staying home on Christmas. And do some hand quilting while watching the game (any game).

That sounds like such fun! That's the kind of fun I miss by living in a state where we hardly ever have snow - bummer! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.

What wonderful customs you have established. We usually have about 17 for Christmas dinner. Several years ago I changed the menu from turkey dinner to buffet. This way the kids can come when they can and I can play all the new board games with the grands. This years menu is chicken and dumplins, pulled pork, chili along with ham and turkey sandwiches chips and dips.

Sounds like fun! All of our family is far away and it is difficult for us to travel, so DH and I traditionally spend Christmas Eve and Day just hanging out together, quilting, watching movies and enjoying some quiet time. So I'll be joining you tomorrow at the machine!

Our festivities are over and done since the kids are with their inlaws today and tomorrow. I'm okay with that, but ... am feeling a bit blue right now. I'm sewing, love being home, but ... I'm surprised by the bit of sadness I'm feeling! Tomorrow we'll take lunch to my mother - can't stand the thought of her being alone - and go to a movie. "Les mis" is what we'll see. So .. Merry Christmas to all .. full of family or full of peace and quiet ... happy sewing to us all.

I'll be home alone quilting and maybe re-watching "Love Actually". But don't feel sorry for me, because we'll all be getting together to have Christmas at New Year Years. My SIL is a fireman and has been asked to work, as has my daughter the paramedic so the rest of us decided that if they couldn't be there then we'd just move the day.
