Welcome to the Quilting Board!

Wow, I didn't notice that. I wonder how many are dormant accounts?
I checked a few at random, most don't have but one or two posts and have been members for years.
I believe giving what I can will never cause me to be in need.
Being cheap is not a badge of honor.
My heroes are working people, paying their own way, taking care of their children and being decent human beings.
I used to be a member of a doggie group that insisted that you participate at least once a month.

where does it say how many people are in here????
I know I have over 16,000 posts.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.
I recently read an article that you should make a list of websites you visit or are enrolled. If you no longer visit a site, then remove your name from their email list. I am trying to do this removal thing now. Got to get the memory in gear ! Will make a list for my kids to remove my name that I currently use. It is so sad to receive an email for a loved one who has passed or worse yet, get a 'Spam' from one of your relatives that recently passed--nothing is sacred from those people !
I really enjoy this site and the helpful comments.
I do not know of other sites like this one....this is my "go to every morning place"..... I don't do Starbucks, but I do do QB!
Merry Christmas, happy new year to all!!!!!!!!!!
I don't post very often but read others comments on a daily basis. I'm currently not sewing as I'm caring for my mom plus working full time. Yes, there were many active folks when this board was new that are no longer
Posting. We really got to know each other and many set up meet and greets.
This industry has really changed with technology. There are so many options for information and feed back on our projects. And it takes time to post and then follow the comments written. I continue to follow this board as it keeps me connected to my hobby. Some day I'll have time again, right now I live through your projects and pictures. And you folks are doing some great work!!

I'm with Geri B, this is my go to place every morning. I have been a "lurker", but now retired can occasionally post.
I refer all new quilters and quilter wan-a-bes to this site.
The people here are most friendly and helpful. Flames are dealt with swiftly and kindly.
Thank you everyone.
I agree...I love this quilt board and have visited others but I find this is my favorite one. I do miss some of the old familiar names that I don't see anymore. I was sorry when some people left with the format changed. New systems are always scary at the beginning but it didn't take long to find the way through it. Just another "learning" experience. Merry Christmas everyone!

I was once in a similar doggie group. We ended up having quite a few members who joined but then hardly ever posted and some who never even visited, after the initial joining. It was a relatively small group and because of the way it was set up, could not exceed a certain number of members (it was not a free site but the hostess was footing the entire bill). After a while, it was agreed that the inactive members be dropped, to make room for others to join. After notices, warnings, then personal messages were all ignored, the group (after several months) started dropping the inactive members. THAT's when those lurkers started responding . . . with outrage. Because of the resultant accusations, that group eventually fell apart.
Your group was wise to have set up the participation rules, from the very beginning.![]()

That an amazing number! I was a little taken aback when I realized I'm closing in on a thousand posts!Yikes, maybe I spend too much time here. Lol. Only 2 to go. Bet I hit it today. Haha!
The expert's mind has no room to learn while the beginner's mind is free to know everything....
I know I spend too much time here, but it's informational and entertaining. What more could a person want?

Don't reply very often but do read everyday. Love this site. So helpful. Thanks to all of you talented people.

The more members it looks like we have the more advertising revenue this site gets IMO!
I would like to see all the 0 posters dropped to get a more accurate count of active members.

Here Here , Me Too! I read every day but do not post all the time. I love this board. The information shared is always great. I am always passing on what was said or better still, when something funny happens. I laugh laugh laugh.

I don't post much any more...only when I really want to express something I haven't seen already posted 50 times in a thread.
If I look at a picture or story, I won't say "cute" (because it's too short) and it's already been said so many times. When I post a picture or story, I look at the number of times viewed rather than comments ... I think a lot of folks look but don't post for the same reason...there's only so many ways to say "cute" in 10 or more letters.
Also, if there's a bunch of views but few posts, I like to think the other views agreed with what was already said. I know this doesn't bump my "posts count" but since I'm not selling anything and I've been around the block a few times, I'm not worried about numbers or labels. So, don't count all the "non-posters" or "low count posters" out quite yet please.

It seems that there are quite a few new members, at least new to me. I don't comment on a post that has more than a couple of pages. It seems redundant to say pretty over and over about a posted quilt. Most every quilt shown on this board is very beautiful even donation quilts. I do miss some of the old posters who moved on. I did enjoy reading what they had to say. So keep on posting the quilts you have made and your opinions on various subjects. I enjoy reading all the various opinions even if I don't always agree. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday and family get togethers. Looking forward to the New Year.

I think we may be getting away from what I had originally stated. I just thought it was neat that this large number of people are interested in quilting.

I know I'm not here as often as I could be, but I truly do enjoy this site and the helpful hints I've gleaned from it.
When someone mentions quilting, I go to pieces!
