Default comfy shoes?

I will be doing a lot of walking in Washington, D.C.
What shoes would you recommend? I need something comfortable, light weight, and cool.
Thanks for your input.

Me, too! SAS all the way. I have lace ups, sandals and flip flops. I love them all and could walk miles in any of them.

you might also want to look into just getting gel inserts for the shoes that you have. I've not worn them myself, but a friend swears by them when at dog shows and standing around on concrete all day. I've just been too lazy to pick them up

If it were me, I'd wear a good pair of tennis shoes that have already been broken in. Something along the lines of Reebok, Adidas, Nike, New Balance, etc. - generally not the cheap "non-name brand" ones sold at Walmart, Kmart, etc.

I wear New Balance 846. It is a light weight athletic shoe and very comfortable.

Clarks sandals are very good. A good tennis shoe for me is Dr. Scholls sold at WalMart for $25 - but not too cool though.

I really like KEEN shoes. The washable sandals are great and also comfortable and cool. The great part is your toes are protected and covered. You can actually wear socks in them if you want. I wore KEENs walking all day at Disneyworld and they were great. Whatever shoes you get, be sure to break them in good before you go.
