Maybe I'm just getting old but I am so tired of all the cussing and bird-flipping everywhere!! TV, movies, kids on the streets, adults in cars...
Here's what happened just a minute ago-
I was minding my own business and sitting at a red light, in the right turn lane, which had a sign "No turn on red". So I'm waiting for a green light, right?
This guy pulls up behind me, honks his horn a few times, revs his engine, backs up (I thought he was going to ram the back of my car) swerves around me to the left, cuts in front of me and makes a right turn while the light was still red.
OK...I can live with that. No damage done, if you're in that big of a hurry, then just go.
But as he was going around me he's is spewing filthy language at me and flipping me the bird!!!
What did I do wrong? Nothing.
He was not a kid either. He looked like late 30's at least.
This happens alot.
Teenagers or adults walking at the mall or in the movies while waiting for it to start, cussing.
Whenever I hear someone talking on their phone, they cuss. Whenever someone annoys them, flip the bird and cuss. (Females doing it too)
Is it just me?
Has the human race gotten that immature?

It's sad, isn't it? Especially the red-light thing....I haven't figured out what is SO important in someones day that they have to get that upset...what, you can't stand to follow the rules and just wait a minute? Nope, they have to get all mad and let it ruin the rest of their day (or ours if we let them!)
It seems that our world has got to the point that it moves so fast, people have absolutely NO patience anymore. (I'm only 30 and I feel this way! :lol: )

People out there seem to get crazier by the day. I hate to leave the house anymore. I'm thankful you weren't injured or worse during this event.

Back when my daughter was in junior high, there was a group of boys who would always flip us off every time we saw them.
As luck would have it they happened to be pulling into the same quick stop we were pulling into one day. I sent dd into the store for what we went there for and paid the unruly boys a little visit. Needless to say I really gave it to them good and told them if I ever saw that finger sticking up at us again I would break it. It never happened anymore after that.

This is what happens when two generations of parents "don't sweat the small stuff"....
I told my kids when they were raising THEIR kids - you HAVE to call them on the small stuff - because no kid is going to listen to you if you've never made them behave...
let the small stuff slide and when something big happens - then what...
I don't mean beat a kid, but make them listen, heed some rules, not throw mad fits and get whatever it is they are having a fit about...
I hate going in any kind of store anymore - kids bellering and screaming and parents just giving in - well duh, why do you think the kids do it? because it WORKS...
Kids are being raised to INSTANT gratification - and parents are falling all over themselves to hand it out...
My kids did NOT run all over town, go where they wanted, etc - they were in sports and music and the rest of the time they were HOME....
kids don't THINK either - mindless slavery to video games - we live in the deep south where you'd think kids would at least have some sun tan - nope - everybody is pale - they sit inside glued to computers/video games/tvs.... when they do go outside they are on a 4wheeler zooming around on somebody elses' property....
is it immature or just plain rude and lazy?

As I've told my son about one of his friends. Some people don't seem to have any filters anymore. I followed a girl one time in my youth and told her to get out of her car and discuss the problem like a grown up. She was about my age. She was embarrassed and apologized. I think it's because we live in anonymity. We don't know them so we aren't important enough to them to filter what they say/do.

A few months ago, my DIL waited at a stop sign a little too long (she was probably on the phone..another peeve). The woman behind her honked and then backed up and rammed her from behind. Twice!!! Then left the scene of the"accident." My DIL was so frazzled she didn't get the license number. She was trying to make sure my grandson was okay.

My son had a gf that swore like a trucker! I am glad he is now engaged to a sweet little gal that hates swearing, My boys rarely swear around me only if we are joking around. I am not a person to say it or like to hear it!! I do hear them when they are working on things in the garage once in a while but not often when they know I can hear!!

Just curious - where did the expression "swear like a trucker" come from?

Never mind - I just remembered - four-wheelers doing mindless things on the road like cutting them off and trying to squeeze by on the right when they are trying to make a right hand turn.
