One of the local news stations gave out a list of safety tips and warnings for Halloween..But this day and time I would only take children to church festivals or only to houses of my best friends...
Here in Louisiana we have laws governing SEX OFFENDERS..If they are not working ,they are to stay home with their porch lites turned off...They are not to hand out candy to children...or to participate in any child activities...
Do you know where your sex offenders are in your city ??All you have to do to find out is google for registered sex offenders in your area...They even post pictures...All of this is public info ...Stay alert and stay safe for all the children....
I know where they are in my town......

The children in my little town are supposed to go to main street and people who want to pass out candy go there also. The police block off the street and people pass out candy there. It is like a mini parade for the kids. It is really a good idea. Children don't go from house to house for safety concerns. There are also a couple of churches that do activities and give candy, but they don't celebrate it as Halloween because of their beliefs. Another small town does trunk or treat where the people pass out candy.

I HAD a sex offender living next door to me. When I got the card in the mail telling me he had moved in I FREAKED!!!!! Sex offenders have to be registered but they are all not bad. My neighbor spent time in jail, he was 20 she was 15 PS they were boyfriend, girlfriend but according to the law he was a sex offender. This happened 10 years ago, he will have to register the rest of his life that he is a sex offender and the girl is now his wife.
