Or do you just try to keep it pretty much done all the time? My grndma washed all the curtains, beat rugs, did windows,,,the whole nine yards. We just sort of do what needs done as it comes along.

When the weather starts to warm up I start getting the itch to clean everything. In the winter I just don't have it in me to do the cleaning so it gets kind of messy.

I always major clean in spring and then in the fall......... hate to say but waaaay behind due to sickness.......Dh and I saw a dust bunny sword fight the other nite and he said" I've fallen behind on my cleaning for you" Hey, You take care of me when I'm sick, work, cook and do laundry,,,,,,why would I say anything to you?????? It will be cleaned up when you can get to it.... I've learned there are more important things in life now.....

I'm trying to do it the Flylady way, it was darn hard the way Grandma used to do it. Totally remove everything from a room, even the wall paper, clean and put up new wall paper. I'll admit it was needed since the heating was with wood fireplace and wood kitchen stove. The whole thing must have taken 10 days to 2 weeks, and it was WORK!!!
I'm trying to do it the Flylady way, a little bit at a time, consistently. Not that I'm all the way, but the mere idea of removing all my stash in one day makes me feel weak and in need of chocolate.

I used to do heavy cleaning every October and April. Wash windows, curtains, move everything, etc, etc. Now that I am on walker, thankful just to maintain house. I get the important things done....rest of it..don't sweat it anymore. It might get done one day. :)

I try to clean as I go. About once a year I get a bee in my bonnet and do some heavy cleaning.

I usually do it right before the holidays as I'm putting out all my Christmas decorations and then again in Spring.

I do and have already started. I painted the kitchen/living room today and wiped everything down (even the places that got splated with paint) so now everything is pretty.. the rest of the house will have to wait until I recover from the going up and down the stepstool a bazillion times and my shoulder quits yelling at me.
