Does anyone know???? My crock pot quit heating...Can I use the stone liner and lid in my oven for slow cooking? If not .... anyone have any ideas of possible use for the liner. No drainage hole so flower pot is out of question..too big for paper weight!

I would think that you can use it in the oven as its stoneware. I'm going to be watching this topic.

I would think so - but I'm giving that opinion without having ever tried it.

So YOU try it and let US know! :)

I don't know why not... it is made to take the heat :D:D:D

DD bought one to use as a dog water dish, it is heavy enough it stays in place

Check the bottom, it should tell you if it's oven safe. If not ... you can drill holes in the bottom for a planter. If it breaks while drilling it, then bury it so it's 1/2 out of the ground then plant stuff around it as if it fell and the flowers "spilled" out.

My old crock pot died and I saved the tall round crock insert to bake/roast in the oven. It can take very high heat. It is excellent to roast the upright chickens (beer can chicken). It's usually easy to find the crock inserts at thrift stores. I have a big oval one I use to bake big casseroles for potlucks. The food stays warm a long time and the crock pot lid fits perfectly. But I don't put the lid in the oven. I cover it with foil if the pot needs to be covered.

We used ours as a watering dish for the dogs.

Thanks for the replies. Think I will put a roast in the oven this week. Of course it will have all the goodies with it......potatoes, carrots, onions and what ever else I can find in the fridge. I just did not want a mess to clean up in the oven.,,,,

I wouldn't put the lid in the oven. Mine has a rubber gasket around it so it would melt.
