I would not open it and find and contact the email for Homeland Security on their site to tell then about it.

It's a scam, don't open it. If you still have any questions, call the police in your town for suggestions.

I get them supposedly from my bank also and just forward them to the bank. I have contacted the bank in the past and they verify no unusual activity on my account and make note of the email I received.

NO government agency will be contacting you by email. Period.

Scam!!!!

Make a copy of the email and send it to your Secretary of State for possible prosecution.

Do not trust Snopes....it's a man and wife sitting on a sofa collecting $$$.

it's a scam, the government does not send email, they send official letters thru the mail, unless it's an internet communication for the general public, how did they get your email anyway? I would notify the police!

Call the FBI and report it. They will check out who is sending it.

I would say that it is fake and no government agencies do not contact you via email, unless your looking for employment and you applied for position. If you had a reason to deal with DHS, they would send you register mail that you would have to sign for.

Pick up the phone, call and ask if they are contacting you.
