Cook everyday and dirty up many items and I need my dishwasher to sanitize the plates after the dogs prewash them. Gross huh?

Ours quit a couple of years ago. I didn't want to replace it. Since it's just hubby and I we really don't need it. However, I don't like dirty dishes sitting on the counter or in the sink so I purchased a large plastic bin and set it inside the dishwasher. I rinse and put the dirty dishes in there until I get ready to wash them.

When ours broke I didn't replace it. Mostly it's just the two of us and when we have more everyone helps.
I don't know about the others but I've had many over the years and didn't feel that any of them cleaned as well as hand-washed. Maybe it's just the ones I had but not that wild about them.

Ours died 2 years ago, we have really hard water and get quite the lime build up in there. We had it replaced within the week. There are 5 of us in the house, so lots of dishes. We now use Lemi-Shine in every load and this one looks brand new, even after two years.

All dishes get rinsed and loaded immediately after any meal. So there is no build up in the sink or on the counter. The kids are really good at it now at 11, 13 and 15. I have a full load every evening. Would not want to live without it. :)

Some of my best memories are of Mom and I washing dishes. If we wanted to talk, that was the time to do it, because everyone else beat feet to get away from the kitchen! Made for great private time! :lol: She'd wash, I'd dry...and we'd chat about anything and everything...

Ours complained for years and finally we just quit using it and haven't replaced it. I don't have one here at Dad's so I am used to washing dishes again.....lol!

Don't have one. Well I do - DH like to do the dishes.
We do have the space and plumbing for a future homeowner to install one. Right now that area is where I keep my recycling & garbage so they're out of the way.

If I didn't have a dishwasher I'd really be washing dishes constantly. My daughter hates hand washing and even hates it when I do because for some reason she thinks it's harder to put dishes away from the sink than the dishwasher. don't ask me to understand her reasoning; I gave up on that. Mine is 10 yrs old and when it goes out I'm getting the one w/2 drawers. This way if I have a load of glasses or whatever to do but not enough to fill the dishwasher I can just run it for the one drawer plus you can keep the dirtiest dishes separated from the glasses

I think I'd go crazy without one! it was a requirement for me & my husband. In my old house the dishwasher was installed before my stuff moved in! there was no way I was going without one.
