and yes, i have a fairy door, as well. it leads nowhere, but the fairies always seem to be able to get something inbetween the door and the wall for the granddaughter, when she comes over--or clues to a "hunt" that leads to a message or "treasure" from the fairies.

Grandma always had a little piece of wood, with a little knob attached, mounted on the wall, in a lower corner, so the fairies could come and go as the wish. Imagine my surprise when I found my little door online...!

Busy Fingers, I'm a senior but I think I have a house fairy as well. I will look for something 100 times, on time 101 I will find it where I had looked the other 100 times.

Mine is named Jim and he often takes milk or other things that need refrigeration and puts them ON TOP of the fridge. Then he says he did not do it. He is 5'11" and I am 5'3". Who's kidding whom???

When I was a stay at home many years ago. When I rearranged furniture, the joke was the furniture moving fairies had been there. We had some other fairies that did other tasks also. It was always their fault, not mine.

I got home, the box was shut, there was the other gift in the box but then there was just bubble wrap. This was over a week ago. Saturday, I got in the car and it was sitting on the passenger car seat. No one sits in that side of the car unless someone is with me - except the angel. I brought food over to my sister in law's home, gifts, etc. and put everything on the passenger seat - front. So now today, I have to return that gift - it was a cast iron bird with its wings covering its eyes as if not to see what was going on - The store gave me another one to replace it and I don't think anyone is going to believe my story (which, by the way, I am sticking to)and couldn't decide whether to fudge the story or not, but if it was an angel, far be it from me to get an angry angel on my case. So I'll go down there and tell them the story, return the bird with its wings covering its eyes - He didn't see anything!!!!!!!!!

We joke about the garden fairy, the shoveling fairy, the snow fairy, but I do not believe in fairies. I do believe in angels. And this angel is having such a good time. But she is teaching me a lesson - don't fib for one thing and secondly you have a chance to let people at the garden shop know there are angels and they may pass my totally hard to believe story around and someone will believe it. Edie
Well, I went back to the garden shop and told the lady the whole story and guess what? She said "You keep the bird, she wants to be with you." So they gave it to me. I named the bird "Angel" and she is right by my sewing table. Which just goes to prove.............Angels can even be cast iron birds with their wings covering their eyes. They see all. I am so glad. Happy New Year. Edie

We have a resident ghost. Really, there is a portal to the spirit world in my house, confirmed by a psychic. We get paranormal stuff all the time. We mostly ignore it till something goes missing or we hear weird noises, then we blame it on the ghost. When things go missing,we ask the ghost to return them. So far, it's worked.

Yes, our house fairy takes things. Years ago while living here I bought a new skirt. I really liked it and looked at it in the closet a few times during that week out of excitement to wear it to church that following Sunday. Come Sunday morning the skirt was NO WHERE to be found. Still never found it.

When we lived in Alaska a few times after folding laundry I came across a pair of men's socks which were a small size. My dh wears size 12 shoes so we knew they were not his! After much teasing we would say "they belong to the little man".

I don't believe in ghost other than evil spirits so to say it's a fairy is fine.

I have a sewing room demon, it moves my pattern I'm working on or turns the iron off just when I need it. I left her a note to clean up and she did nothing to help me. Does anyone want her???

My last house had a ghost as well. I saw it the first night I lived in the house, although it wasn't my first sighting of a ghost, I slept on the sofa that first night. The next morning when I got up, I opened the door to the second floor and yelled up the stairs "Okay now, listen up, I own this house now and I am not leaving, if you wish to stay, it is okay with me." Over the years I lived in that house, I was frequently comforted by the ghost.

There also appeared to be a portal of some kind in the house, it would briefly open periodically. I always thought I had imagined it until one night a friend of mine saw it as well. I never felt fear or threatened in that house -- just peace.

I would LOVE to see a real ghost, although I may have just recently. I work very early so I'm in the building about 2 hours before anybody else comes in. A few weeks ago I was surprised to see a man I didn't recognize walking down the hall ahead of me. At that early hour, only every 3rd light is on down the halls so it was dim and I couldn't tell who he was. He went to the end of the corridor and turned into an alcove that only leads to a meeting room, which was REALLY weird. I waited and didn't hear the doors to that room open (you have to use a fob to get into that room, and the latch is a solenoid that makes a loud bang when it releases) and there's nowhere else that alcove leads to, so I walked over to see if he was still standing there. I thought maybe it was the security guard trying to jump out and scare me...but nobody was there. Spooky!

Apparently my house fairy is messing with me tonight! I ordered a new set of casters for my mobile cutting table. They arrived today. I opened the box, two plastic bags. One with the casters the other with the "sleeve", for lack of a better work for the cylinder that the caster rod slips into. Well......i propped up one side of my table and now I can only find my casters! WTH???? BOTH bags were on my kitchen table where I Opened the box! I have searched high and low for the missing bag. Sheesh....one of the old casters cracked in two today so I was glad to recieve the replacements. Now i am on 3 wheels until I locate the bags. Dangit!

So that's where my knitting bag is! The house fairy hid it. Sure hope she puts it where I can find it in the morning. I've got a new pretty yarn with sequins I'm working on!

Oh, BTW, my son is 40 and now the proud owner of a Hot Wheels yo-yo.

In 1965 my family moved into a house which was built in 1923. We were told before we bought it, a previous owner had passed away in the front bedroom that overlooked the street. Whenever this spirit would get angry there would be such an odor that was horrid - it was not the smell of something dead, but it did smell like a woman bleeding. My poor father tore the place apart trying to find the source of the smell. But after a year or so we finally just figured it was the spirit. Well, my grandmother was coming from Kansas to visit with her new husband and she was to stay in that room. And I was up in the room making the bed when the odor started. Went down stairs and told my mom we needed to do something. So she went upstairs, stood in the middle of the room and said if she did not behave herself while her mother was visiting she would sell the house to a family with 5 small boys. We never had a problem after that.

In 1989 my husband and I bought a house in So. CA that was built in 1923 - to our knowledge no one passed away in it - but I do have times when things disappear for days and weeks. Last month it seemed to be out of hand and I was ready to go crazy, and then I stood in the middle of the family room and announced to our visiting spirit that if it did not behave and return my missing items I was going to sell the house to a family full on young children. And I am not kidding, everything that was missing did turn up. One item was my husband's MP3 player which turned up on the floor of my car behind the driver's seat. Since my husband does not drive my car very often and his player cannot be used in my car, neither of us can figure out how it ended up there. I was so thrilled it turned up because he doesn't buy the cheap ones.

Sometimes you just need to speak firmly to those pesky spirits to get them to behave.

My angel must have a great sense of humor. I thought I had lost my checkbook. Remember riding in the backseat of our truck and putting it in the pocket behind the drivers seat. My DH and I looked for months in the truck, looking everywhere. I was forced to cancel my checking acct ($35 fee). Guess what I found - two months later. Right where I thought it was. Also lost my walking foot. Looked for days for that and of course when I bought a new one, found it right where I thought it should be. Keeps life interesting!
