I forgot about my grandmother -her dad was a twin. They were Frederick and Theodore -Fred and Ted. Very typical names for their era! But my grandma's dad died when he was 27. I have wondered how hard it would be on a surviving twin. Whether it is harder than an single.

Sue I imagine you are right about the temperament. But my son and his wife have worked to encourage them to be individuals. Angie still dresses them alike tho or the outfits are similar. Glen told her she could do that when they went places but at home they had to be free to choose whatever clothes they wanted to wear. The boys have definate ideas about what they each like and dont like. They are such opposites in alot of ways.

My three kids are only a year apart from each other so we did end up raising them like triplets alot of the time. Everything was done in 3s and they were together most of the time. They were always the same height as they grew up. One might be an inch or so taller for a bit then the other two would catch up and they would all be the same size. Until Sara started kindergarten they shared clothes. As they grew older they still shared clothes alot. So it was like having triplets til they hit the preteens. There is 2 1/2 yrs betweent Sara the oldest and Glen the youngest with Nathan in the middle. So they were a tight trio for a long time. Then they hit the preteens and boy did things change! LOL Sara and Nathan couldn't stand each other and Glen played peacemaker! LOL

Let's see - my mom was an identical twin, my oldest sisters are identical twins, one of the twin sisters has a son who married an identical twin and they had identical twin girls, my brother and wife had identical twin boys, and then I came along and had fraternal twins....no photos on computer, but when my boys were 6 months old we had a family thanksgiving and took a photo of all the the twins...what a group!

I have a set of twin cousins on my mother's side and my father had twin sisters that died in infancy. I'm expecting one of my daughters to have a set of twins IF they ever get married. ha ha

My mother was a Triplet and she had twin sister and twin brothers. Total of 14 children in the family!

In both photos, my Mom is on the far right.

I love seeing your pictures Lady T! They almost look identical don't they! They do they stay in touch? Our twin grandsons are only 6 almost 7. They are struggling to find their own identity. They are not identical but they have issues. Daymon wants to hug Devon and Devon is going through a don't touch me phase. No hugs from him or to him by anyone other than his mom! But Daymon is an impulsive hugger which annoys Devon highly!! LOL they have discussed this and agreed on terms! LOL Daymon is only allowed to hug Devon at certain times! LOL They both still say we more than I and they always want to know where the other one is at. Sometimes tho this is out of jealousy so one doesn't get something that the other one didn't get. Boys! LOL
