In a setting like the quilt guild table I think wrapping one present wouldn't be a hardship. I buy the Christmas boxes at Tuesday Mornings. They are gorgeous! No wrapping needed but I do because I feel like the person is getting two presents with a pretty box to keep. Many have bling on them, inlaid pictures, glossy finishes with trims. So nice. And all sizes. The kids or multiple gifts, they will get gift bags or gift wrapped plain boxes. I think my guild family appreciates a special touch.

For Christmas, I use fabric bags for family gifts, unless the gift is for a small child then they get wrapping paper. The fabric bags have been used in our family for many years. I bought Christmas fabric when it was on sale and made oodles of bags.

For Birthdays, I usually reuse a gift bag. My stash of gift bags grows at the same pace as my fabric stash. I swear I never purchase gift bags!

For a special gift, then it is wrapped with ribbon and bows.

I have always hated the waste of wrapping paper, tissue paper, and paper gift bags.

I wrap all my gifts and make the bows. I also use tissue paper inside the boxes. I think wrapping a gift gives the gift a little extra special touch for the person the gift is intended. The gift may not be the best that they received but it will be the prettiest package that they receive. Last year in January our Dollar Store had boxes 5 to a pack and all different sizes for 10 cents a package. Needless to say I have enough boxes to last the rest of my lifetime.

Me too but I think gift bags can more easily be reused. I have a couple of environmentally conscious friends/relatives who appreciate it when I reuse the paper store bags. (Think Trader Joe's)

I liked wrapped boxes. Don't always do all mine in boxes, some things that are shaped oddly just go better in a bag or I might not have the right size box. My grandmother worked at Hudson's Department store (Detroit, MI) and of course she did all her Christmas shopping there. Had them gift wrap everything too. I was always loved her presents because they were wrapped so beautifully...an enduring memory of her and Christmas :-)

It depends on the gift. I usually wrap DH gift for the practice. I usually give gift cards but still like to wrap them and put them in the card. Crazy, maybe. Depends on my mood. I have more trouble with gift bags.

When my niece was 1 1/2 I put her gift in a bag because it was such a weird shape. She would not take it. She just pushed it aside and wouldn't open it. Instead she wanted her mother's present because it was wrapped. This Christmas she is 15 and I wrapped her present, put it in a larger box and wrapped that one. Twice.
