You can try them for 30 days and if you don't like the service you get your money back.

I use Cellular. Switched from Trac. I live in rural area and can't get service in a lot of areas f(even my house.)my son got a hook up that allows area around the house for up to 5 phones and it cost maybe $100 a year. I can now use it a lot more because they use AT&T towers. I take the 17.00 rate for 250 minutes because I don't use it that much. We do have a land line but there are3-4 who use it so it's convenient. I primarily use it when I am away from home. I am vey happy with it. I used 251 minutes while in the hospital and they messaged me that I could change to the next rate for less. It was only a minute over so didn't elect to do it, but they do a no-hassle on what they advertise. I am very pleased.

We had it, both hubby and I, bad to no reception many times in our area! [even inside or outside of our home] We got totally frustrated with them. Every time we called they would say, 'you should be getting reception'..........well, duh, if we were we wouldn't be calling from the land line.
They used an at&t tower but it doesn't work here!

We changed to straight talk from Wal-Mart as when purchased there you get Verizon towers where ever you go, never had a dropped call. We've always been able to reach someone. Phones are reasonable and so is the monthly service.

I have one of the free phones from assurance wireless. I do get the free 250 minutes and 250 free texts, but that is not enough for me, so for $20 per month, I can get another 750 & 750 for a total of 1000 of each. Great deal for me.
The only drawback if you can call it that is I am not able to use gps or Internet, but I have those at home where I am most of the time. If we need gps, we just stop by Starbucks or a library to use the net. (Just for the record, never use others free wifi for your private information, you can be hacked quite easily).

what are the requirements for assurance wireless? I dont get food stamps or medicaid. i am just out of a job @ this time of my own accord. Just living on husbands social security. I wonder if we would qualify. We probably would have to upgrade too, 200 minutes in calls is ok but we text alot to our kids out of state. But $20 is alot better than $75. Will look into it .thank you.

Have your husband apply since he is on social security, and he should get approved. They only allow one free phone per address, so you both can not have one, but savings is savings.

I have an AT&T go phone. You must purchase the phone and I put $25 every 90 days or $100 once a year to keep number current. Calls are 10 cents per minute, texts are 20 cents. If you text a lot, you can purchase a text package. If you pay your account on time, you carry over your unused monies. We have 2 of these phones, one for my husband and one for myself. Service has been available most everywhere and less than $10 per month per phone. We are not huge phone users, just a convenience and travel use.

I use to have ConCel, but changed to Boost - to be honest, I forgot why! It must have been that I needed a new phone so just decided to try a different server....

thanks for all the info we have no land line phone and very poor AT&T service here but Verizon was what we had and being only phone was very expensive we switched to Straight Talk from WalMart for our main phone works even better than Verizon and I am thinking of switching over to a smart phone will still only be 45.00 dollars a month so if no AT&T service may consider this

My Son is giving me a smart phone, so I have been wondering the same thing. My ATT service on my regular cell is terrible from my home, so I was wondering if any of them did use Verizions towers. Happy to see all the info.
Thanks!!
