I have never shopped there on line. I know some won't ship depending on how far it goes. I always look locally. So sorry, can't help. It al depends on who does the packing and shipping that day.

I bought a featherweight from them several months ago and it was packed well when it got here....no problems with it at all.

I have shopped on their website. Yes, they do a great job packing. Shipping is a little slow but if you are not in a hurry that's ok. I purchased some items that were listed as crochet thread and when I got them the thread was really for tatting; too thin for crocheting. Sent them back and they refunded my money

I have shopped on their site. Bad experience. Instead of what I ordered, I received an old print of a picture of some 1900s President -- Benjamin Harrison maybe? Anyway, I contacted them and they credited my $ and paid for return postage, but who ever got my item must not have returned it cause I never heard anything further.

That said, my understanding of the site is that each store handles their own sales and shipping, so I wouldn't tar the entire operation with that brush. Their shipping costs always seem sky-high to me -- but I always seem to find postage costs to be ridiculous.

I have bought 2 FW's from them. One came and it was packed very well. It came from somewhere in the mid-west. The other one I picked up locally so no packing was done.

I have bought several machines and all were packed really good. I bought one machine that I got really cheep and it said it would not run. Well the stitch length was set at zero. I moved it and sews great. Some of the people that put the items on for sale does not know how they work. I also seen the description as being one thing and it was something else. (I emailed them and they did change it description before the auction was done) Besides what we buy does go to the good of Goodwill.
