I love my Kobo, and I use Calibre to load books onto it - many for free.

Ipad here. I like it for all the other things you can do on it. It is pricey though.

The only ereader that you can download from the library (at least in my area) is the Sony Ereader. I have the Pocket PRS-350. I LOVE it. You can even get some free books from the Sony Reader store. I read alot, but I read even more now that I have my reader. Just so you know, my reader does not have Wifi, which means that I have to download the books to my computer and then load them on my reader. The next version up has wifi. I didn't want that because I didn't want to be tempted to impulse buy. This way, I have to get home and go online. That gives me time to think about whether I want to spend the money. Good luck.

I have the nook and absolutely love it. I read so much more since I don't have to carry a heavy book around. Highly recommend the nook. I recently purchased the SONY pocket ereader to carry in my purse, but prefer the nook

My DH just gave me a color Nook for my birthday, and I love it. I chose the Nook because it can download books from the library (for free!) so I can save my $$$ for fabric!

I have an Ipod touch and have had the kindle app on it for about 3 yrs now and love it. At the time the Ipod and the kindle were about the same price, (300) so to me, it made sense to go with the ipod since it did so much more. Good luck with your choice.

I'm not a techie either & DH gave me a Kindle for BD-wound up taking it back & exchanging for a Nook. Still haven't gotten used to it & it seems to take so much more time than just thumbing through a book. I'll be watching this post to get some helpful hints. Thanks for starting this thread

I have Calibre as well, and find it useful.

Oops!! Wrong info from me. I can download audiobooks onto my Ipod, not read books for my kindle from the library. I think it's coming to the library sometime later on.

i have a kobo and i love mine although some you can ck email and facebook on mine is strictly a reader. it is capable of downloading from other formats where as some of them can only download certain places. its also relatively easy to use and holds quite alot ( app 2500 books) you can buy an sd card anywhere to add more space sould you run low.its nice to be able to carry it in your purse.
