Love my Kindle. It has Wi-Fi and I have the cover with the built in light. I read in bed and don't disturb my husband. I also find that I fall asleep quicker that I did when I had a lamp on. I think it is because there is less ambient light.

I love my Kindle, my boss has the Nook and I'm not as impressed with that one. With regard to Wi-Fi, get the one with 3G because if you're sitting in your doctor's office you aren't going to be able to download books unless he has Wi-Fi in the office and then you'd probably have to as for a password in order to be able to access his Wi-Fi anyway.

3G is just like a phone, you get a signal anywhere. I would wait just a bit to see the new Kindles coming out. There's supposedly a touch screen Kindle and also the Kindle Fire which is kind of like an I-Pad which I have no interest in. I have one of the older Kindles and would like to get the new E-Ink technology which is supposedly better contrast. Also if you really don't like advertisements don't fall for the Kindle that sells for a few bucks cheaper because it includes advertisements that will show up on your Kindle. To me that would be extremely annoying.

I forgot to mention that there's a good site for all types of e-readers called MobileRead.com. There are threads addressing every type of reader made. Submit your questions there and someone should be able to help.

I don't have an e-reader. Not sure I would use it much. The books at the library are free. I would rather spend my money on fabric, notions, thread, yarn, and crafty stuff.

Yes, this has been discussed alot but for those of us with opions it's ok. I have both Nooks the 3-g black and white and the color. I love them both but wouldn't give up my color for anything out there. I love the backlights; I can read with the lights off at night or on the beach during the day. I love the color to view magazines with and I love, love the color I get when playing Angry Birds or Ms PacMan; they have tons of apps. It is set up so that I can use it as my organizer and add dates, bills, notes just like an electrical organizer. I have word, excell, etc on to make life easier. It uses a lot of different formats so that you can get ebooks from just about anywhere. B&N is great; it doesn't care where you buy the books from. I can go right into the store and get help when I need it; hate the phone customer service; if need be they'll replace it in the store with a new one; not refurbished one. I can go into the store and read any book there for an hour free of charge. It just offers so much for what you get. I'd buy another one if I ever needed too; without hestitation.

I love my kindle. I can order my books from Amazon (which I generally do anyway) and they are downloaded immediately generally from anywhere that you have cell service. Also Amazon has free books too. They are not backlit, because they don't want it to look like a computer. Much easier on the eyes. Plus it can be read in the sun, unlike a computer. I do not get magazines or quilt books on them, those I like to touch:)

Have you seen the new Kindle Fire? It is their color e-reader. I hope it is as great as it looks. I'm starting to want one.
