I knew to be careful because of the content of the picture impacting one's reputation but I had no idea about the geotag. scary

This is yet another reason I don't use those types of websites.

Did you hear abt the idiot in AZ that put both kids pics online, told their names, what their address is, AND what school they attend? Then said, "well if someone wants to kidnap them, they're going to anyway". Noooo, not if they don't know all the info you just gave them!

Thanks for the tips. I will change my page settings.
I don't like how they put everything on facebook either. But I do like that I get to see pictures of friends who are out of town.

Do you remember the story from the news a few weeks ago where some computer geek hacked into women's email accounts looking for nude pictures they had sent to their signifant others. Then he pasted them on THEIR facebook site and they had a hard time getting them removed. Ome of these gals was interviewed and she was upset because he did that. OK - I can understand. BUT WHY would she be so STUPID to send such personal data into cyberspace?????

Don't do anything on the internet that you would not do in front of your parents, children, employer or priest! There is no privacy, period. The internet is the 21st Century Borg - the collective - for the investors to play with and entertain themselves, and create profit. The latest group of FB investors are ... foreign nationals. That datamine is extremely valuable.
