I’ve just put a photo of Tycho on my Profile Page, in an Album. Don’t know how to download one into a thread, but thought that would do.

Big hugs. So, so sorry for your loss. Gosh that hurts so much. It's so difficult to lose our beloved companions at any age as they add so much to our lives. A couple of days ago when walking our 14 year old dog with lymphoma in remission, we met
a 5 month old puppy of your breed. Pancho was adorable and so soft! It brought back wonderful memories of our TT in her puppy days and reminds me to enjoy every moment with her.

Just saw your girl's photo in your profile and what a beauty! She looks so soft and cuddly.

Yes, letting go is horribly painful and hard. I guess it just takes time. Tycho is being cremated tomorrow - they asked us if we wanted to be there, I can’t really imagine anything much worse, but maybe that’s normal in Hong Kong, or indeed elsewhere. We will collect his ashes, and then plan to try and find a dogwood tree and plant it here on campus at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where we live, and where Tychy was so happy. I’ve had so many utterly sweet messages from students, and they can then be a part of saying goodbye to their friend when we scatter his ashes by the dogwood.

Lalla,

So sorry to hear about your little one, I know how everyone is on this board when a loved one passes. We have such a great "family" here.

You are so right, Chasing Hawk. I'm so new here but already feel a sense of family - the kindness of you all has made a horrible time more bearable. I have to go to the vet hospital here in Hong Kong at some point and pick up Tycho's ashes. How final that will be. Cuba, my Havanese, is very downhearted, seems not to be her usual cheerful little self at all. Poor baby. It must be hard to make sense of an absence, for her. She's lived her whole life with Tycho since she was ten weeks old.

i am so sorry for your loss. In Dec., my love, Zoey, a 10 yr old Russian Bleu kitty passed. we still talk about her everyday. I think my dear husband is finally getting over her death. I dread the emergency room too. we know what it brings. I haope your days and nights are filled with warm thought and fun things you did together. Be at peace, knowing he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

A loved pet's departure always leaves a hole in its humans' hearts.

Wishing you happy memories for you.

I’m so sorry about your Zoey, linnie.

Thank you all, so much; your support has helped me through this awful time; it’s two weeks today - I can’t believe I’ve managed to get through two weeks without my little boy, but that’s what we do, isn’t it - survive these heartaches. On Saturday we picked up his ashes. I don’t know where so many tears come from. Now we are trying to find a Dogwood tree to plant in his memory here at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where the students loved Tycho and want to commemorate him as much as we do. Cuba continues to ‘write’ the Dog Blog, on her own now, that goes out every Friday with the students’ weekly notices. They are in the middle of exams at the moment; Cuba recommends lots of treats.
