They are all beautiful.....I have a lot of cardinals and blue birds in my yard...The finches have been here for the last month but will soon be leaving for the north.....I also have a lot of wood peckers that stay year round as do the cardinals and blue birds....

We don't have cardinals in Oregon. Saw my first one when I visted my daughter in Maryland. Love to see that red flashing between the trees! Thank you for sharing.

All my birds are FAT. Been feeding them for over 30 years. Did have a friendly scrub jay that would sit on my arm or shoulder to get a meal worm or peanut. Sadly West Nile Virus got him. We miss him.

That "fat" cardinal is so pretty! I wish we had them on the West Coast. We have beautiful -- noisy -- scrub jays!

We love watching birds here, too! We have a pair of cardinals still hanging around, but all the goldfinches left a couple weeks ago. Sure do miss them! We have bluebirds nesting and yesterday I saw a kite (the bird kind). We have three hawks and they help keep the varmint population reasonable. Birds are so fun to watch!

We have cardinals here all year around and lots of other birds. We also have hummingbirds, usually from April til October. I feed all the birds and even the squirrels. We don't hunt or fish, they are all safe in our yard. I buy bird about every week, all year around. I say when I get too old to quilt I want to take up bird watching. I don't really know all the species.
I bought two bird feeders at Wal Mart years ago that squirrels, raccoons or crows and blue jays can not get into. It was 30.00 and they quit selling them. They had them on a high shelf where short people could not see or reach them. They probably wondered why they didn't sell more.

Great pictures! Oh they do love those sunflower seeds don't they. Where we live in FL I don't see these favorites of mine and I miss them. We lived in IA and the Blue Birds & Red Winged blackbirds would show up around DH b-day 2nd week of March.
