We are getting snow again today. Anywhere for 5 to 10 inches. It all depends on the temperature later today. It might change to rain, sleet , and freezing rain later. We call it pennies from heaven. I get the day off and DH gets paid to plow it. I guess I will have to sew again today. I did finally get the old computer desk emptied and the desktop computer ready to throw away. I can't believe it still even worked. I still need to take the desk apart so the garbage man will take it. It seems like there is always so much to do around here.
Since I have been off all week eating has not been the best. My DH has also been around and he keeps eating bad things them I want them. He brought home pizza on Friday. ONe day he brought home the peanut butter pretzels that I love. He also got me candy for Valentines day. Luckily he ate most of it. I haven't gained but I haven't lost either.

Ok I think I figured out how to get a picture from my iPhone. I emailed it to myself and transferred it from there to iPhoto.

That's cute meanmom. Is that something you've already done or something you plan on doing.

Oh, that's beautiful Pat!!

We are getting more snow, too. It's supposed to turn to freezing rain/sleet later on tonight and be hazardous road conditions. I'm PRAYING that I do not lose power. We lose it so frequently that we've bought a generator. But I'm so worried about the pipes freezing.

I'm thinking of joining WW on-line. (I won't leave this board!) My co-worker is doing it and it's amazing how she can calculate points quickly with just her phone. She can hold her phone up to the bar code and get the points instantly. She can calculate points per serving for her favorite recipes, etc. She is 30 and dragging me further into the techy world.

DH is going grocery shopping for me while I stay home and work. I brought work home and I'm also on a de-cluttering missions. I haven't stopped to quilt yet. Maybe I should set a few little goals for myself for today and tomorrow and then make time to quilt. It's good for my soul.

Stay safe everyone, it is so cold and potentially dangerous out there.

CindyA, the weight watchers thing online, I've heard good things about it. You just have to actively be in control. To be honest, it might make eating better fun. I hope you join her.Hope you don't loose power. Seams winter is just holding on. Hope you get lots done today.

I wanted the purple too.
Pete, I have a really really hard time getting on track if I deviate from my eating plan. I binge eat and then say whats the point. I have found it is just better to steer clear of the no no's. But, if you do deviate, don't give up. We are all here to support you and help you get back on track. How is your eating plan going this week? I read somewhere that it takes 90 days to break a habit. So, I'm hoping that the longer I go without breaking my eating plan I will be able to break the sugary bad habits I have. I just love sweets. Oh, and carbs. lol I also found, that as long as I don't have them in my system, I don't crave them. And am able to handle a craving when it comes up. So far, fresh fruit has been my only intake that is sweet. Amazing how good they taste when it is not competing against processed sugar.

Hi Everyone. Thanks for your kind words - I went to Arbor Day Foundation and had 50 trees planted in her honor. My DH and I are in the wood business - and she was our Customs Broker/friend all these years - so the trees seemed an appropriate memorial. Waiting for the certificate so i can send it to her family.

Got my cast off this week - so am able to do a little more. Have a splint on and not supposed to over-work my thumb - but at least i can sew a little easier. Hopefully i'll get my March place mats done on time !!
Thanks to all y'all up north who are sending the cold weather our way tomorrow. News is calling for sleet and freezing rain....so we will see. Last ice storm we got 3 1/2 inches of ice and were house bound for almost 4 days.
Better go check the pantry and make sure we are stocked up on good stuff just in case.

I am heading outside to shovel snow again. MY DS ran the snowblower over the driveway this morning. At 1:00 my front walk was clean. There are about 5 inches there now. Not sure how much i will be able to shovel but will get it started. My knee has been feeling better the last few days.
The wall hanging is my own design. It is completely finished. I washed it last night and it is upstairs hanging in my sewing room drying. I made it completely from my stash except for the barn. The barn fabric is a wool and alpaca fabric with a gold thread running thru it. I am really happy with how it came out. DH birthday is Monday

Just back from a 3 day quilt retreat. Got lots done, but also ate myself silly. Too much good food. All in my group are wonderful cooks! One more week till weigh-in, so I have to be extra good.
We had about 6 inches of snow over the weekend, and today the temp almost made it to 30! High tomorrow is forecast to be -2 though. I am definitely ready for this winter to be over.
