Default Ewww! The Taste!

We're watching the show The Taste. They were sawing through a pig's head! Then one of the contestants put it in a pressure cooker and the pressure cooker exploded! Ewww!

I'll have to go back &watch that one. I love reality cooking shows but don't care much for that one.

My grandfather would bring home a whole pig's head every now and then. My grandmother got really excited to have it. I don't remember what she made from it. I just remember thinking wow a pig's head is on the kitchen table. LOL

The cooking shows I like best are Chopped and The worst cook in America.

I like Pioneer Woman cooking show. She makes everyday food that families will eat.

I've never watched the show. I am very glad it's not me cleaning up the ceiling after the pressure cooker exploded. Not a fun job.

I remember going to the country as a kid and mom getting a pig's head and bringing it home. She was really tickled. Cooked it and made souse with it. I'd rather have bologna - LOL. I think seeing her messing with the pig head and smelling it cook is what turned me against the souse - couldn't eat it without thinking about that head lying there on the table. Ugh!

My grandmother made head cheese. I never tasted it. It can be unsettling to open the freezer and see the pig's head there. :0

Can't even imagine it! I thought my great grandmother was odd for liking fried chicken feet. I really did prefer to go without.

we went to german fest in milwaukee when my oldest was less than a year old (she is 11 now) my husband ordered a roasted pig head. they sold it to him out the side door of the booth, he took it over the beer tent and ate it. he got a lot of strange looks and i had to get up and walk around until he was done. we watch the taste every week, and my littlest left the room during the pig head.

My mother made head cheese with pigs head as well. She would process the head cheese in mason jars. The spices and onions she put in it made it absolutely delicious. She died before I got her recipe. It was a lot better for you then some of the crap they sell in the deli now a days. Hers wasn't loaded with saltpeter and other preservatives.
