I was also a non-traditional student part of the time. Had my degree in home ec education, but no desire to follow that path (no jobs either). Went back to school when my #5 son was 3. Promptly discovered I was older than most of my professors (age 36 at the time) and then 2nd semester discovered my daughter was on the way. Hubby went to Korea and kids & I went back home. I took a couple of classes each year for the next several years and I got my elementary certification. Taught two years and realized I used up all of my (very small)store of patience in the classroom and was the wicked witch of the west when I got home so got a job working with #s and a computer all day. Will retire at the end of August after 19 years there.

Congratulations! And do you have a certain career in mind that will use your degree?

Woohoo! Congratulation! What an achievement!

As a full time, non-traditional, 55 yr old student in MA (medical assisting), I totallly appreciate what you have gone through. You give me hope that I can make it. Ummm, Math 102 and I have to do the Tango next spring. Pass that and I am good to go. Will be doing 19 hours next semester. Now to pay for it as I do not want to get another Student Loan. What a rip-off. I paid 10 x's the amt. for my last year as other students who paid cash up front. Wll not do that again.
By the way, got letter today I made the Dean's List, again. Happy Dance all around.

Congrats and good luck.

Cheers for you! You did it the hard way, and you deserve some well-earned pats on the back.
