Well in the making anyway. Today I bought a real sturdy microwave cabinet with a shelf & bottom storage for $6 at a thrift store. Already had plywood in the garage & I'm going to make a cover for it. I'll have an ironing surface 24 × 48 when done! I'll post pics when done.

Thanks. Thankfully my friend warned me to wash the fabric & batting 1st!! IT SHRUNK!! I'm using canvas & 2 layers of warm & natural.

If you are using canvas for the top of your ironing surface, I suggest that you attach it first (use a gazillion staples) then use a spray bottle with VERY hot water and spray it down. This will shrink the canvas to the board and will never wrinkle or buckle. I also suggest that you use an insulation layer such an insulbrite along with your batting - helps preserve the wood underneath. Have fun!

I am not using staples so I can wash it. I already washed the batting & canvas in hot water to shrink it. I am going to put the batting in between the layers of canvas & use elastic :-).
