i crochet & knit ..plus quilt 
i use row markers a lot in knitting ..both for counting rows and stitches when working a stitch pattern. they use to make a row counter that would slip onto needle and transfer with each round to help w many rows. but ..i really don't use them with my crochet. there are crochet patterns that are intricate with multiple stitch patterns within the overall pattern ...one might use stitch markers for those. the really cute stitch & row markers i've seen on web and have thought about buying ..i haven't ..because the dangly beaded ones and some of the other jewel type markers i'm afraid will get tangled in or snag on yarn.

A small zippered bag to hold supplies is always in my crochet basket. I only use the kind of markers that have an open end and only occasionally. A small measure tape would be handy. Even if she has one, if she is like me another is always welcome.

I haven't crocheted for years....grandbabies & dogs love my thread too much. I always had trouble with the thread making an escape. I thought of these Thread & Yarn holders as something that would be nice to have. There are some neat holders made from everyday household items. For me, a lot of ideas here. I might have to crochet again.

Love yarn bowls. I have 3 or 4. Most began life as a salad bowl but I do have a 1 true yarn bowl. So nice & keeps the tangles away from the yarn. My favorite bowl is actually a teak salad bowl. Don't laugh - it's prefect for most sizes of yarn balls.
