Be sure to read your manuel, it says not to use windex glass cleaner on the stove top, it will soak through the glass and ruin the top.

I have a glass bottom gas cooktop. I use the Ceramabrite and the Barkeeper's friend to clean it. That surface is easier to clean than the grates.

The smooth top is much easier to clean then one with grates for burners, even the sealed ones. Just like cleaning a countnertop. No pieces to remove. It is the only reason I have one. I want a different model but we are selling the house so no use in replacing it now.

Worst stove top in history, in my opinion. They are extremely hard to clean and if you have a warrantee almost all methods of cleaning them, except what the stores sell, invalidates your warrantee. And the acceptable cleaner doesn't clean.

My next stove will be an old fashioned stove with the round burners. If I can find one without all the dang electronic options, too, that's what I'll buy. The panel for operating the electronic options failed on our stove. It was over $300 to replace it.

Oh wow so many opinions! When we built this house I swore I would never clean another burner bib. The first cooktop lasted over 20 years and we changed it out to a newer one when we remodeled about 4 years ago. I have zero regrets about either one. Not hard to clean in my opinion. Also I don't make candy on mine n

Ditto - exactly what I do.

Use vinegar/water mix,1:1, instead of glass cleaner. The hotel i used to work at only let us use "green" cleaners but didn't want to purchase special ones. Vin/water worked very well as a glass cleaner & it is a disinfectant.

I wish I had my burner type back. Slow to heat and so hard to keep clean!

Burned on sugar is the worst. Try a little of the Barkeep's friend on a damp paper towel. It worked for mine.

The best advice I got when I first got my smooth top was to keep a kettle of water on the stove and put it on the burner that is still hot after using. It keep the heat out of the kitchen and stops any accidental burns. It's automatic to put the kettle on the burner now by all family members.
