Sounds like a good one. Going to check it out and see if it is available on Kindle. Thanks.

I read this book just last year and I too thought it was great. The end was just a bit drawn out for me but the rest of the book made it all well worth reading. Fascinating read and story. Afterwards, I had to google the names to check out the history behind it all.

Guess I had better go check out The Kitchen House. I am not sure why I like to read these kinds of books but I am drawn to them. Thanks for the recommendation.

Historical fiction is the only type of history I can stand, and I love it. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! Reading is a joy, but I get tired of some of the drivel (books written according to a 'formula'). It's good to get some new recommendations.

Been meaning to read this....I made a note of the title some time ago.

I got the book yesterday at a used book store for $6 and hope to enjoy it as much as you did. Thank you for the recommendation.

There's SO MUCH 'drivel' out there... I can't stand a book where I can easily anticipate the plot. I avoid a book if the author's name is bigger than the title, on the cover! Bad writing, books that turn into romance novels, formula writing--- UGH. I'm picky about what I will read.

thanks for the tip and recommendation. I love to read and historical fiction is my favorite, hands down. I will now make a trip to the library and do the search for "The Kitchen House" by Kathleen Grissom.
