You got it, Parrothead. I had lots of daughters, lots of nightgowns and no fires. I think I'd rather deal with putting out a small fire than having plastic melt on my child's skin.

Darling gowns.

So the real problem here is watch your children and never have a fireplace without a screen in front for your own safety, your home's safety and your children's safety. I'm not sure why we have to have a negative reply to a joyful event.
I honestly did not intend this as a negative reply. If I were a great grandmother making nightgowns, I would want this information so I could make an informed decision. Not everyone lives in a home that has no fireplace, no wood burning stove, and no space heaters.

They remind me of the ones my mom made for my girls when they were little. they were always so thrilled with them.

those are darling! I love making nightgowns for my youngest grandaughter, and she loves wearing them. Like above, that was never an issue when my mom made clothes for me, or when I sewed for my daughter, but now it seems we have to be warned about so many dangers. We don/t have open fires of any kind in our house, so I don"t worry much about that. It does pay to be watchful though.

I think the the night gowns are beautiful. If we lived our lives by what all the researchers said then we might as well crawl in to a corner and stay there.

These gowns are precious. I keep telling myself I should make some for my grandaughter, now maybe I will. I have always loved these style gowns for little girls, but never see any in the stores that I like. Thanks for sharing.
