I went to $ Tree today and bought 9 towels. Some people asked about them shrinking, so I washed them. Didn't get to the washer right away; maybe 15 minutes passed before I dried them. When I took them out of the dryer they hadn't shrunk too much, no more than any other waffle towels. But the red in the stripes is splashed all over the towels. I didn't think to use color catchers. So I guess I have to wash them again. These may become my towels instead of gifts.

I bought some washcloths from Dollar Tree and the first washing they fell apart, be careful, don't want all of your hard work to go into a towel and they fall apart

Have you tried going to Hancock Fabrics or Joann's for toweling fabric? Would that work better?

I have already bought some from fabric.com. I haven't washed it yet, but it doesn't have all those bright colors of the $Tree ones. I usually just get ones at TJ Maxx or Marshall when they have bundles. Have never had a problem with them.
