    Handmade scissors

I have to admit I have a scissors fetish. I love old scissors. My son sent me a link - he loves it from a metal working point of view and he knows about my thing for old scissors... I hope you all love watching it it as much as I did: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-28581597

What a lovely story. It is a lost art. The video after the scissors is a great one also. Old weaving machines (Looms). What magic!!! Thanks for sharing.

After watching the scissors video (wonderful) and the weaving video afterwards, what piqued my interest was that the scissors guy had been doing his work for like 50 years and the weaver guy looked quite young. It was wonderful to see them both. Hard to believe that the young weaver was able to find the looms, warping mill, and bobbin winder .... and be able to get them up and running also. I was so impressed with them both for what they do and how they are keeping these "crafts" going. So very nice to see. Thanks for posting this link.

I have a pair of those stork scissors and appreciated to see how they were made and the care that goes into making them. I have a pair of my Grandmother's old scissors and they still cut fine to this day.
