that little symbol for "cent" is gone from the keyboard...?

I don't remember when it was on the keyboard. I have a 1952 portable in the basement. I will have to check it out. I get by with 59C and most people know what I mean

you can use the ascii codes here http://ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

thus 59¢ can be typed after typing 59 by holding the ALT key and typing 0162 on the numeric keypad and then releasing the ALT key.
