I've been working on the Bunny Hill BOM, Henrietta squirrel. Probably because I see them in my backyard occasionally and thought they were cute. Well, I'm mad at those darned little things, they have climbed up to my potted lilies, pulled them up and ate them! Now how can I finish my applique blocks without thinking horrible thoughts every time I make a stitch with my needle?

Barbara, you are lucky. Our wonderful squirrels love chewing the wood siding on our 200 yr old home. Think about how you would feel about Henrietta squirrel then!

Half an hour after I planted the flowers in my planters, they dug them out. They aren't so sweet and cute --are they.

Make a squirrel voo doo stuffed animal and stick pins in it everytime you look at your lilies. I have been able to put mine in their place after them raiding the bird feeders. Now the little buggers get nothiing unless a bird drops a seed, which is rarely.

I know they are annoying, but they are just trying to eat. Unfortunately, they like to eat our flowers.

We invested in a squirrel guard for our bird feeder. It looks like a funnel with the large side toward the ground. It worked beautifully for about a year and then along came a gray that could jump over the guard and land against the wooden pole and up he went. It's been all downhill since. Should have invested in a metal pole! Now every year, after the babies come out, we trap all the squirrels we can, one by one, and take them across the river and let them out. It is time to do it again.

You are lucky. We don't have any squirrels where I live (my house). I miss seeing those cute little guys. We were out driving the other day and I saw a black one. The ones in our area are usually brown or grey. It's funny how the cute little things can be so distructive. My daughter loves raccoons, but the sure are distructive.

I love them all I know they are destructive but it is a fight for survival and if it was me I would take advantage of the free food just like the birds and I would chew alittle to get a warm place to stay and protect my babies.I guess I look at it differently than other people I have hand reared a baby squirrel and I was suprised how loving and smart they are.The one we had used to gently bite us to go back in its cage so it could go to the corner and pee it never did that on us and when it saw us in the morning it purred like a kitten.We rehabed it and like to think it is still out there.Just wanted to add that we work closley with a wildlife rehab person so we are informed with how to look after wild animals properly

I planted bulbs with chicken wire protecting them (top, bottom, sides). That worked pretty well.

Critters remind me of people. I put birdseed in the feeders and the squirrels eat it. Then wasps invaded the feeder. When we had a dog he always wanted the cats food and vice-versa. Nobody can mind their own business!!!
I always tell myself that the creatures inhabit the planet with us for a reason but sometimes I sure don't know why :D
