I am so sorry this happened to you. I know how you feel a few years ago we came home to a home that had been robbed. They took my medications, money and my pistol. When it came out in the news paper is said.

"Drugs, Money and Guns" ...... That made me feel almost as bad as being robbed. It made it sound like I was the felon.

It may not have even been because the door was unlocked. They may have just broken in anyway so don't feel guilty about that. Sorry for what happened, I know how sick you must feel.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I will keep you in my prayers as this is very traumatic and will take time to heal.

We were robbed 3 times in 3 months when we were first married... It was a neighbor (also the landlord's DIL) and she knew that the kitchen window didn't latch properly and could be jimmied open. I caught her red handed but didn't have since enough to call the police and have her arrested. We moved from there that week.

While it won't make anything better, thankfully no one was hurt. I would also be very upset to lose my jewelery as it is mostly sentimental rather than valuable.

Hopefully they will catch the person that did this to you. Regretfully so many are resorting to stealing just to feed their families it seems hopeless.

You might check out an alarm service just so you will feel more secure also.

I am very sorry to here of your mishaps. Check the local pawn shops for the stolen items. What I have learned from Hurricane Katrina, is take a picture of your most valuables and include a brief description and and save them to a flash drive. Seems like a lot of work. But it is worth it. There is a pen you can buy and mark you stuff with a serial number in a hidden place to also help identify them. Had to do that with a lot of bicycles. That happen to my mother years ago. They even had the nerves to cook them something to eat and leave a mess.

Oh, how terrible. Our home is our safe haven, and it must be so disconcerting to have it violated.

We live in a rural area, and are kinda lax about locking things...that is until I started watching "Criminal Minds" on TV. That show just creeps me out, so now I go around at bedtime doublechecking the locks!!
