Exactly! again the eye is not bothering me now... it doesn't look discolored. My mom said that it might be pink eye, hence the concern and trip to doctor atop of that... I'm supposed to meet my room mate on saturday, so I'm hoping I'm A OK.

I'm sure I will be as soon as I'm on some meds. I just feel like my health went into systematic melt down. Everyone else in the house caught the same cold, and none are bad. Yet I'm the one who gets everything at once...

I just hope I can sleep tonight.

I feel for you. I have insurance but cannot afford the co-pay and it stinks. I think if you soak a compress in a mixture of 1 tsp of salt and two cups of water as hot as you can stand, you may feel some relief.

I don't think it was pink eye if it got better that fast. I think you may have had what my family calls, "a cold in the eye" especially since you said everyone in the house was passing a cold around. It's kind of like a contagious allergy. Pink eye lasts longer and is quite painful. A dishcloth or paper towel soaked in salt water isn't going to hurt no matter what you have. Neither will an ice pack as long as you don't leave it on for more than 10 minutes at a time and re-wrap with a clean cloth between applications.

Feel better. The warm compresses are the best until you see the Dr.

I had pink eye last month, it really stinks, I washed my eye with baby shampoo, it didn't sting and if you call the Dr. they usually have someone on call if you can decribe your symptoms they can call you in a script, what ever you do don't use contacts (if you wear them) leave them out for a week and throw infected ones out and get a new case. If you have little people in the house teach them to use hand sanitizer after bathroom use, they often can't reach to wash their hands, even if you have to do the wipe job sometime their wondering hands can be the culpret of pink eye. I sure hope you feel better, Coralee

I don't use contacts. I have them, I just don't use them... not fond of things in the eye or rather sticking fingers in eys.

Hope you are feeling better. I have had pink eye and no insurance but I did work in an herb shop. I used colloidal silver in my eye and it went away in a few days. I only see a doctor when I absolutely HaVe too. Even though I have Medicare now. Even the copays are beyond my budget. Any colds or flu or anything that does not require surgery is taken care of at home. I rarely take antibiotics. Haven't in years. I do keep my immune system up with vitamins and garlic. I also keep my blood pressure down with naturals. Best of luck in school this year. My DGD is going back soon too. She gets sent to school with all kinds of things for immune system and stress. LOL

One thing that a lot of people don't think of is to change your pillow case every day. It will prevent reinfection!
