He was my boss. Married 18 years this year, together 26 or 27- I don't remember.... it feels like yesterday. He's my soul mate.

I had moved to VT to be w/a guy I had been having a long distance romance w/for two years. When I got here I joint the VT Nat'l Guard. I was a long distance runner & joined the VTARNG Marathon Team. My hubby, Phil, was on the team but I had no idea he existed.

Years later the guy I came to VT for was long gone out of my life. One day my girl friends & I were working out in the weight room at work bitch'n & moan'n about not being able to meet nice guys. Phil was there work'n out too & for some reason I just walked up to him & asked him where he met women... I had no idea who he was or whether he was married or not. I had no intention when I asked him except to probe the mind of a male.

I'm not sure how long it was go'n on, but one of my female co-workers noticed that he was come'n in to our office a lot... use'n the phone, the copy machine, what ever (he didn't even work in our building) She said he was check'n me out & sniff'n around. I was clueless (no wonder I couldn't find a man, I couldn't even tell when one was interested! lol) One day, on a Friday, he called & asked me out. Of course I said no, maybe some other time... I mean really! No way I was go'n to go on a date when I was called on a Friday for a Friday date, no matter how desperate I was lolol We made a date for the following week & I spent the entire week 'research'n who he was'.

Our first date we hit it off really well. The typical talked so much we closed the restaurant down date :-D I was determined I wasn't ever get'n married again. After two years of dating he purposed (St Marcos Square, Venice). By then I knew I wanted to be with him for ever, but was still too scared for marriage. When my daughter was 17/18 we moved in together (she was 13 when we met). We were engage 5yrs when I woke up & realized I was ok w/get'n married. Here we are 10yrs later and he's still able to put up w/me *giggles*

I can't even tell you how many years we were together when someone pointed to a picture on my desk from my marathon days & said to me "Isn't that Phil"? All those years of look'n at that picture & I had never noticed! Just goes to show you, some things are just meant to be :)

I met my husband at our church youth group. He was this good looking new guy that I just had to meet. We were at a week long event during the summer (this was the first day) and we were playing some kind of takcle football game and I made sure to tackle him!! We hung out the rest of the week and then...... I was too young to date (14)so we mostly hung out at church events and then had to find friends to double date with us. By the time I turned 16 and was allowed to "date" he went away to college. That didn't stop us!
We were high school sweethearts, dated 5 years before I married him at age 19, he is 2 years older.

My landlord was lamenting how all the single girls sat on one side of the church and the single boys on the other, so we started a single's Sunday School Class.

Let's just say the class folded a year later because there were no more singles left!! (That was 16 anniversaries ago.)

I was widowed in 2001. Went online and met a lotta goofs (that's the nice word for them!!!!) Finally, after talking to him for a month or more (he was 125 miles away), we decided to meet. I had a "feeling". Sure enough, the minute we met, I knew. Took him a month...LOL We dated for 2 yrs and got married in 2005!!! Feels like yesterday, but also feels like we've been together forever! I wouldn't change a minute of this...........:)

We met on a blind date weekend before easter and got engaged over the 4th and married labor day weekend that same year! This year will be 24. We have a 22 yo daughter and a 20 yo son, no grandbabies, not ready anyway nor are the kids. LOL Seems like everything that year revolved around a holiday!!

I was 15 and babysitting on Base. Of course I was running late. On the way to the apartment, I met a group of people in the stairwell - one of them was a young GI from another base. He claims that he fell in love with me at first sight. (It took me a little longer.) The topic of age never came up but boy was he shocked when he found out that I was jail bait. lol

36+ years later and still in love. I think that is pretty darn good.

My husband claims that when he saw me across the room at a party, that he told his cousin that "he was going to marry me". I had dated that cousin for a little while...he introduced us and the rest is history....been married 34 years, dated for 3 before that...
