Friends talked me into going to a Notre Dame football game on the train specially chartered for this trip from our home town. We walked through the cars. One car was labeled the "bar car"....a place to get only cokes (of course!). My friend knew one of the guys. My hubby was standing next to him. We talked. He asked if he could take me home from the train station. I had fallen in love with him. Been with him since January 1965.

Well you've heard or read the stories about going home with the roommate and meeting the roommate's brother...well that's what happened with us. My mom wasn't too keen on us getting married (she had someone else picked out for me...BTW no way did I want that one...) We'd been married about 10 years and had the 5 boys (daughter wasn't even a twinkle yet) and my mom said, 'Well, maybe he was the right one after all!' must have been...we'll celebrate 40 years of marriage in January.

I love to tell this story, I picked him up as a hitchhiker!
not as bad as it sounds. He was on his class trip at a local state park and I was there with my sis. We went for ice cream at the closest town and on the way back to the lake - some were wanting a ride back down to the lake - about 2 miles. Short story - I picked 3 up - mine was one. After discussion, we were going to the same college and had three classes together out of 5 the following fall. we were married 2 yrs later and have been for 40 yrs.

Mine is confusing lol, but here it goes.
We first met when we were 13 yrs old. He (Corey) was dating Dorenda. I was dating Robert (my oldest daughters father). Then Corey was dating her sister (Tammy). Me and Robert had a child together ( I was 14 and he was 17). Then Corey and Tammy had a child (together they were 15). Everyone broke up at different times. Our oldest children are cousins. I moved back to Texas. Robert had no interest in Chelsea (my daughter) but she wanted to see him. I would use my vacation time to drive her to VA so she could see her dad. Then I would drive her to GA so she could see the other people in her family. Her dad wasn't so good, so I wanted her to see that she did have good people in her family. We would stay with his sister which was coreys daughters grandma. Well one year Tammy (who was married by this time) was talking to me and asked me to not be with Corey. I said ok and laughed because I didn't think of him that way. He was just my friend. Well the next year it was different, you couldn't separate us. Tammy was fine with it that year lol. He told me he had liked me for the last 10 years and wanted to be with me. I told him I didn't know how that would work because I lived in Texas and him in Georgia. He told me he would move. So after vacation was over I drove home crying like a baby cause I didn't want to leave him. He moved in 2 months later. We didn't date or anything. We had Jonathan got married and then had Makayla. We have been together 7 years this July, and married for 4 years. He never asked me to marry him. We just started talking about it then planning and then did it. I still want him to lol, we talked about it awhile back ago and he said he didn't know that it was important to me and that he will make it up to me lol. I just turned 31 in Jan and he will be 31 in Aug. Well that's my story.

That's just like us, except for the grandaughter. We were married 39 years in January and have a 38 year old daughter and 36 year old son. We were high school sweethearts too

I met my hubby when I was 19 and he was 20. We were both married to other people. Here's where it gets confusing so try to stay with me...my ex (K) and my hubby (A) have the same cousins...K's uncle was married to A's aunt. Anyway the 4 of us were friends then A's wife left him. He moved back to their hometown and we followed a few years later. By that time A had remarried and we were friends w/them...they split up...I was still married. A went in and out of relationships and trouble for a good number of years then after 21 yrs of marriage K cheated on my with an online romance. We split up and A heard about it through his family. He called to check on me and after several months we started seeing each other...talk about wierd! We dated for 3 yrs and then got engaged for almost 1 yr. We will be married 6 yrs on May 1st. He is the best thing that I could ever dream of. When I was going through my divorce I prayed a lot about dating and being nervous about it since I'd gotten married the 1st time at 18...well God took care of that by giving me A! I have 2 sons and he has 1 son in heaven and 1 daughter. Together we have 4 granddaughters and 1 grandson. We also have 1 granddaughter by love rather than blood...we have been truly blessed.
