Hi All,

I wanted to make a few Christmas Stockings. Some come with a cuff which would be perfect to put a name on it but I don't know how you do that. Do you all use embroidery machines to put names on? Is there an alphabet die for those go baby or go cutters (don't have one of these). If I could cut out the letters on fabric I could just iron them onto the stockings which would be cool.

Thank you for your answers in advance :-P

Someone was kind enough to post a link for applique letters, I think it was Craftybear. Those would be just as good, if you didn't have a die cutter or embroidery machine. Plus you could size it with a copier to what your needs are, unlike a die cutter that dictates what size you can cut.

Hobby Lobby has iron-on letters that you can use. Tried it with my grandson's stocking & it worked well.

You can use letters from books for children with the ABC's or write the name or print the letters on the cuff and embroider them. If you don't want to embroider, use color paints or copy them to fabric and iron them on. Many ways to get the names onto anything.
A good source for the alphabet is:

I have hand embroidered them. Print or write the name in pencil first.

I do for all the great nieces and nephews for their first Christmas. I do the cuff in counted cross stitch.

When I need alphabet for something, I just use a large font on my computer, print it out and use the cut out part as a stencil. I just mark fabric with disappearing ink or washable ink, then embroider with a chain stitch to fill in the letters. As my picture of my grandson's quilt.
