LOL, love all the responses.

Later on I brought it up again and told him just think of how much money WE would save since I do not have to purchase the fabric. :D

This is him :roll:

All joking aside, he is a good man and supports my hobby. He just never knows what goes on in my head, guess he is afraid one day there will not be a stitch of clothes in the closets because I made a quilt out of them. Look at this way, at least we will be warm with quilts.

I am a newbie at sewing so I want to perfect my techniques before I cut up my memories so it will be a while before I make my wedding quilt but it is now on my bucket list.

Great idea waiting to see the quilt -- I may have to go buy wedding dress. LOL can see my sweeties eye when I cart that home. ROFL

Buy one from the thrift store and use it for your first quilt. He will then understand why your idea is a good one.
Unless you tell him the one in the attic was only worn once by mistake.

I would have never mentioned it to my DH. He would be Huh? You still have that dress? LOL. If I had it. My girls played make believe Bride when they were little wearing my dress. DD wore it in a school play and it's probably in the school's wardrobe closet. They had a lot of fun with the dress.
