What I love are the pics of cars that look brand new and they're selling for really cheap. The car is already in a container ready to be shipped and they'll pay the shipping both ways if you find you really don't want it. People must fall for this or they wouldn't keep doing it.

My DH got a very similar response when he posted our boat for sale on CL. That is nuts. Glad you didnt fall for it.

Thanks for the response. I am willing to purchase it. I will be paying
you via check. You don't need to bother yourself pertaining to the
shipment. I will arrange with my shipper to handle it for me.

The
amount on the check will include the shipper's payment as well. You
will need to cash the check, deduct your own funds and get the rest
trasfered to my shipper via Western Union so that he could come for
the pick-up at your address. I need your full name, address and your
phone number so as to mail the check to you in timely manner. The
payment will be sent almost immediately once you comply to deduct just
the amount for the item and transfer the balance to the shipper.

PS:Kindly consider the item bought. I want you to take the item off
advertisement because I don't want any other buyer to bid on it again.
I will be adding extra $20 as listing removal fee and make sure you
inform me immediately you remove the listing, OK?

Await your reply.

LOL. besides me not doing any business like this..Craigs list is not a "bidding" procedure.

So, Seller be aware of the scams out there..
i feel sorry for those that are desperate to sell something and would probably go for something like this. I did get back to her..and now "Await her reply".

The best way to handle this is really to do nothing. When the person responded to the CL ad, they didn't know your email address. It wasn't visible in Craig's List and they clicked on a link provided by CL. If you respond (even to give them a piece of your mind and to say "ARE YOU KIDDING, I am no dummy") they will then have your email address.
whenever you are selling anything, simply put in your ad,
Local buyers only; cash only; will not ship. Ignore the responses that don't comply to this.

We've gotten the same emails before.
Gee, that person wants a lot of stuff LOL :D:D

I think it's a good idea to have them call too. I'll have to remember that.

SCAMMER! I've had people e-mail me with similar "instructions" to pay for PUPPIES!! Yeah ... right.

Don't even bother responding because then they know your e-mail address is valid.

I have gotten these kinds of responses on items as low as a $20 ice cream maker. Now I just usually disable email replies on a CL ad - they can call me if they are interested.

As tempting as it sounds, don't have them send you anything. You don't want to give your address out like that. I received the same response each time I posted anything on CL. that is why I don't even try any more.

I know it is a scam, i always use a "disposable email" for craigs list.
this is the first time i have ever gotten this type of reply...

But i have heard and seen them on line before.

i never meet anyone at my house..always in a parking lot..well lit with lots of people.

With the quilt frame i am selling, they will have to come here..but it will be when the husband is home.

I would always add CASH SALES ONLY on the ads, and ignore anything else.
