I have been trying to find a facial cleanser and moisturizer that I like. But haven't found anything that I really like. I get frustrated trying to decide if all the hype about expensive products being better is true and what ingedients do what to help fix sun damage and prevent wrinkles. I hear never use anything with mineral oil, yet I know some older ladies with beautiful skin who have used products like ponds cold cream their whole life and it is full of mineral oil. I would love to hear what some of you use and why you like them. :-)

I just keep mine clean and put lotion for sensitive skin on it, not expensive stuff. I have a couple wrinkles but for 51 years old, my skin is ok :) Most people think I'm in my forties or so they say ;)

I believe there is much more to it than just facial cleanser and moisturizer. It has a lot to do with your lifestyle over the years.....drinking, smoking, sun protection, allergies, etc. With that said, I have never found anything that I have just "loved". I have tried Mary Kay, Arbonne, Jafra, (very expensive) to cheap stuff from Walmart and they all seem to act the same. But it is better than nothing.

I use one of the Oil of Olay products. My husband calls it Oil of Old Lady !!!
Used to use Mary Kay but a few years back they changed all their formulations and I couldnt use it any longer.
Alot of it is genetics and like the previous poster said life style.

Now this is something we all are looking for the perfect face care items. I truely love the Dr. Wexler products, however they are expensive, sold at Bath and Body works. There is a complete kit for $45 or so to see if you like it,but it is only sample sizes. Makes your face feel like a baby's bum. Now I am trying the Cetaphil cleanser and it is wipe off or wash off. And a new cream the is promising called Youth Code by Loreal. I have tried Avon, Olay, Clariton, Mary Kay,just about all of them. And I believe it is individual preferences. I like a soft smooth skin and wrinkles are here to stay.....Good luck figuring out you perfect regimen.......

I like the Olay Regenerist in the red containers or L'Oreal's Revitalist in the blue jars in my price point. They seem very similar. I think the L'Oreal is a little better priced. I'll know tomorrow. I'll empty mine tonight.

I agree, it is mostly life style and genetics. My Mom had lovely skin till she died in her 80s, slightly wrinkled but smooth.

I use a lot of olive oil and baking soda mixed as a cleanser. And whatever is on sale at the grocery store for make up. I'm told that I look much younger than I am, and one sister won't speak to me any more since a friend told me, way too loudly, that my oldest sister was hunting for me. That sister is number 4 down the line, about 6 years younger. Of course at the time she was dying her hair a stark black, not a good idea after 40 years old!!

I think that total cleansing at night is one thing that really should not be neglected, and some kind of cream put on, I usually use a little bit of Coconut Oil most of the time as a cream. And HoofMaker on my hands since I wash them so often at work, dries them out fast even when wearing gloves all the time. Everyone there seems to love the HoofMaker hand cream.

I travel a little and the soaps/moisturizers from Hampton Inn are great. The soap is one of the few I can use on my face and not have it feel dry. The moisturizer is light enough to use on my face and feels great.

Do they still make "Oil of Olay"?" or do they just have Olay products?

I think the main things are - stay out of the sun, don't smoke, and keep your weight stable.

I have used Oil of OLay for years, never cared to have a greasy feel.. Then old age caught up, or I should say all the years of tanning and smoking caught up. My dermatologist reccomends Oil of Olay. I now use the one they put out called Age Defying day moisturizer, and the night cream. I love both, face feels clean and soft( just an occasional bump when I hit a wrinkle!!LOL)
