I have the same problem. Finally, I decided to make a sampler just for me, using all the fabrics I was afraid to cut into. It turned out beautifully, but by the time I finished, I had moved on to loving other fabrics I'd bought. I gave the quilt to my niece!

There are certain pieces of fabric I fall in love with and hate to have to cut. What I do is take a small artists stretching frame (6 x 6) and 'memorialize' that fabric. I've done this several times and now have a beautiful wall of 6" squares of those best loved fabrics which have, over the years, created a beautiful WIP on my sewing room wall!! As my collection of favorites grows, so does the 'patchwork' on my wall!!

I am very willing to go buy more but I really don't want to cut up my stash fabric. Does anyone else out there have this propblem. I am slightly mystified by this as I didn't have this problem until recently. What is going on?.................
While I do not have that problem I can see how someone could. They are beautiful to look at on the wall, just like a rainbow, but think of how beautiful you feel when you make something for someone out of these fabrics and the smile on their face just warms your heart. Why don't you take a picture of all of your beautiful fabrics and have it blown up poster style so even though you are using them up you can still have them to look at for many years to come. Good luck I hope this helps. Lelia

Better than cutting them an inch too small! That's always my biggest fear. C9P

Yup I have that ssme problem. When I started using the Quiltville method of cutting strips I didn't want to cut strips from smaller yardage. What if I needed it later?? I had to force myself to do it but glad I did now. I have more of a idea of what I have in my stash.
